AMALGAMATA: POST-PESTO
A minimal-waste couture collection that explores the symbiosis between life and death, and the liminal space in between, at a microscopic level through the eyes of a jar of mouldy pesto.
The title, AMALGAMATA: POST-PESTO, is derived from the word amalgamation, in reference to organisms as accumulations of living and dying cells, and stomata, microscopic pores found on the underside of leaves. The collection draws from biomimicry, referencing bacterial growth patterns, organic shapes and silhouettes inspired by cellular structure, and layered protrusions that feel alive.
